| As Gardewine Group Inc.’s custom contract hauling division, Northern Cartage offers dedicated long distance or local cartage service for our customers. Northern Cartage commenced operations in the mid-70’s in Manitoba, operating under the name Northern Leasing, created to accommodate companies that did not want to own and operate a private fleet. After deregulation of the trucking industry in Manitoba, Northern Leasing was renamed Northern Cartage. Today, in addition to our location in Winnipeg, Northern Cartage now has locations in Calgary and Edmonton, Alberta; and Regina, Saskatchewan. With a fleet that includes single and multi-temp reefers, and dry vans, Northern Cartage has the expertise to transport a range of commodities for our clients including retail, wholesale, grocery, fresh, frozen, and time-sensitive products. This division also provides tractor service for the railway, transporting throughout western Canada.
